1. GIVE ME MORE, I'M EXCITED AUGH
2. No, I didn't learn how to adjust my comedy from 2006-era posting to 2022-era posting. I'm old and have learned nothing. It's sad.
3. As a writer, I completely understand why you would want to write a romance between Picard and Laris. They've spent all this off-screen time together in the same house, it's relatable, she's smokin' hot, it makes sense.
As a woman living in the world... I kinda don't love the visual of this elderly man having a romance with this woman that is Hollywood Hot-ter than him. Which includes looking younger than him. I'm not saying this out of some ridiculous anti argument of "omg a 20 year age gap between a 60yo woman and a 80yo man is pedophilia!" like of course the fuck not, and I know that in-narrative Laris may well be 500 years old, it's just... why can't we see an 80yo actor with someone visually closer to Maggie Smith or the lady from Titanic, or even Helen Mirren. Come on, guys.
PStew can get it, of course he can, we all love the man, but have him get it in a more interesting way, is all.
(I promise that this isn't just because I'm shipping Qcard really hard. A likely story, I know.)

WHY NOT JUST DE-TUVIX THEM WHILE YOU'RE AT IT
(i hope the holos' individual personalities are on a hard drive somewhere ;_;)
5. Anyway, the guy who plays Rios is really hot.
6. Is Soji hanging out with the aliens from TMP? Because that's cool.
7. I like the design of the Starfleet uniforms. A nod to the '90s, keeping it visually separate from DISCO, and looking good.
8. Just a reminder that when the news for this show being greenlit originally came out, I texted my BFF about it, and she, a person with zero emotional investment in any Star Trek series at all at the time of this exchange, texted back with, "IF IT ISN'T PICARD AND Q RUNNING A BED AND BREAKFAST TOGETHER THEN I'M NOT FUCKING INTERESTED!!!!" I've shared this story on various platforms before and I will never stop sharing it.
