Picard S2E02 - "Penance"
NEW PICARD NEW PICARD NEW PICARD AUUUUUUUUUUGH
Spoilers::
1. This is about last episode, but I forgot to say last post:
Seven out of anyone would understand that it would be messed up to merge the holograms, she understands the personhood of holograms more than anyone because she was BFF with the EMH! Anyway, I will stop talking about this and continue to tell myself they're all saved on a hard drive somewhere.
2. Hearing the age in Patrick Stewart's voice really gets to me.
3. Q, DON'T YOU DARE HIT YOUR BOYFRIEND
4. Picard looking at Q and saying, "You are not well..." My shipper heart. My feelings.
5. I realize people might be sick of the mirror universe and riffs on it, but at the same time, I get the appeal for the PIC writers because we never got to see it on TNG.
Seven's pause when she says "resistance" was a nice touch.
Also, I love the callback to Seven's original designation with the Borg Queen. I wonder why Alice Krige didn't come back? Maybe she said "hell no" to all that makeup. This actress is excellent, in any case. Also, getting to write a twist on old-school "madness" dialogue that would be offensive and annoying with a character who was actually mentally ill but makes perfect sense with a cyborg who can sense ruptured timelines and realities must have been fun for them, it works really well, I feel.
6. I JUST WANT MORE PICARD AND Q INTERACTING AUUUUGH
7. Surprise Patton Oswalt as an animated cat for some reason! Why the fuck not!
8. Would the spoon indent on Cardassian heads really be part of the bone? I sort of wondered that about all the skulls. Whatever, it was awesome and fucked up.
Anyway, clearly I don't have any deep thoughts on any of this, I just want more. Anyone else watching this?
